"Yay, Birds!"

Yesterday afternoon, I joined six of the other artists with work in “Yay, Birds!” for a lovely opening reception at Andra Norris Gallery. So many good conversations about birds, the present-day politics of federal science funding, the present-day politics of conservation, and even one about sea snail taxonomy – plus, a 37-year-old bald eagle ambassador was on hand to queen up the joint. My kinda opening!

Many thanks to the talented and thoughtful Jane Kim (also known as inkdwell) for curating this wonderful show as a way to mark the 10th anniversary of her Wall Of Birds mural at at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology HQ in Ithaca, New York.
