Field Guide : Steller's Jay

$36.00

Unlimited edition. 18 x 24 inch, museum-quality poster on matte paper.

Like their corvid family relatives, Steller’s jays are clever, curious birds (corvids – jays, magpies, crows, and ravens – are considered to be among the most intelligent of all non-human animals). They’re also bold, loud, and aggressive, with a deserved reputation for nest-robbing and even attacking and killing smaller adult birds. The Steller’s jay looks slightly different depending on where in the species’ range it resides, and this poster features the western or coastal race of Steller’s jay, which has a blue streak in front of the eye; other subspecies have white coloration there or no streaking at all.

Note: These archival poster prints feature rich, appealing colors. I encourage customers to take care in handling them until they are framed/protected for display; the darker colors on the matte paper can be scratched. They ship rolled, so customers need to flatten them before framing (or have their framer do so).

Charitable Sales Model: Whenever one of these poster prints is purchased, a charitable contribution equal to 10% of the print’s cost (or $3.60) is made to a nonprofit working to tackle environmental or social challenges. Read more about my charitable sales model here.
